I Make My Own

I never knew how easy and delicious it was to make your own almond milk. So much cheaper than in the stores and I control the amount of sugar. It’s literally 1 cup of raw almonds soaked overnight and then 4 cups of filtered water, blended on high in the Vitamix for 1 minute and then squeezed through a cotton bag (I bought mine on Amazon just look up “almond milk bag”). Then I stick the pulp in the dehydrator and make granola out of it. Absolutely nothing is wasted!

I sometimes add 2 soft pitted dates or a tsp of vanilla and a dash of cinnamon, but none of that is necessary if you just want pure unsweetened almond milk! It keeps in the fridge for like 4-5 days but it never lasts that long for me – I use it to make my golden milk in the mornings and it’s incredibly creamy and delicious!

I know I sound like a cooking show or an infomercial but that’s not where I’m coming from – this is just me, sharing a simple recipe for something healthy and amazing. I rarely have dairy anymore because of bloating and inflammation and other unpleasant side effects, but almond milk is spendy at the store! Do your body AND your wallet a favor and make your own…
