What If? (Thoughts on an Interconnected Life)

By Poetry, Writing

What if…

Freedom meant truth.
Truth meant contentment.
Contentment allowed sleep.
Sleep meant rest.
Rest meant communion.
Communion meant intimacy.
Intimacy meant peace.
Peace meant balance.
Balance meant growth.
Growth meant life.
Life meant light.
Light meant everything…

What if…?

This is is a series of thoughts I wrote back in 2011. It’s interesting, looking back, reading back your own thoughts and trying to remember where you were at back then mentally, emotionally, even physically. Seven years ago I was living in New York with two busy middle and high school aged sons. I was working part time and getting ready to release my first novel, Letters From The Ledge.

This piece has me thinking about the meaning of life, even now. The meaning of true contentment. The “interconnectedness” of all things. None of us live or breathe in a vacuum. We are all interconnected, and everything that happens creates ripples in the pool.

So what if being truly present in the connected now really meant everything? What if risk and love and loss and learning are the reason for it all?

😉

I’m just saying…
